Have you read any of the threads on that link I posted? If you did you will see that every thing I said was the truth. Ok my posting style leaves a little to be desired but.

On my return i will apologise for what i posted yesterday, it was out of order.

Your posting style does leave a lot to be desired taking into account is was my first post on the forum + i did read existing threads (after buying the piece of ****e) so not to post like a complete numpty to start.

you'll do yourself no favours by been an arsehole.

the senior members on here have a wealth of knowledge thats worth its weight in gold so take heed and dont gob off!

Arsehole = retaliation imo - i have my own board + Admin/Run a few others, if someone came on asking for help on a subject matter (which is what having a specific public forum is all about) & they were shouted down they would (person doing to griping) be banned straight off.

I wouldn't have been asking the questions if i didn't think they did have a wealth of knowledge.

Ok well having been extremely ****ed off yesterday afternoon i went out for a drive & i think there are other issues also - when i hit 40mph there is absolutely zero umph to the acceleration + having read around this morning this may indicate the engine is on the way out? :(

I am planning to return to the dealer & get my money back tomorrow - what would anyone say my chances are? they sold me the motor with faults (however minor they be) & did not disclose them therefore breaching the sales & goods act 1979? am i right or wrong?

Whilst on the subject of Freelanders/Gaylanders, there is a 01 TD4 ES AUTO with 77k on the clock (+ high spec) & only a few grand more than what i paid for the 99 K series crap - worth a punt or not? as from what i have read the TD4 is the only viable option for a Freelander...?

Any help at all will be taken on board (criticism also) & again apologies for anything posted yesterday + getting off on the wrong foot

TIA

i think the ones before 2001 had the drive train related faults, shout up if you know different,

td4 is the one to consider, ask anyone who has one, cant think of a better alround motor, good drivability, mpg is one of the best, effortless driving and quite capable off road ,

welcome to the loony zone

Well the beeping in reverse sounds like someone fitted an audible warning beeper. But back to the most important matter in hand. If as you say you read these forums, then. Why oh WHY did you buy a money devouring heap of garbage?? When you should have got a proper 4x4 like a disco or Deepender.

- and we all know that discoveries win the award for the most reliable car year after year , and never break down. the td5 wins special praise.
escpecially from my neighbour whos 54 reg td5 spent so much time at hunters landrover that he part exchanged it for a kia sorrento.:p

saying that i wouldnt have a 1.8 freelander because of the hgf problems, unless it was dirt cheap and it was relatively new.

If your taking it back your probably no longer interested in answers to your original question, but the wheel sensor has no connect with the speedo, so a working speedo doesn't rule out that possibility.
