Hi Guys,
I fitted new heater plugs to my 2003 TD4 the first three came out a treat but the fourth turns out to be damaged . the hexagon section seems to turn but the threaded section in the head is solid so how do I get the thing out . The car is running OK but I know the glow-plug is bust . Any useful ideas :confused: Eddie ( will the head have to come off ? )

I suggest you get the engine warm, remove the damaged section of the glow plug and then try an easy out in the portion that remains, can't see taking the head off to be an advantage. Where in the UK are you?? At worst case I would weld a nut to the damaged portion to remove it.

Hya Mate, Thanks for your reply , I am in Lancashire just outside Blackpool . The plug that has sheared is the one on the left of the engine ( Looking from front ) Awkward place to get in to. Would a easy out fit into the recess ? The nut welded on might work but difficult place to weld don't you think ?
