I have only had my freelander (1998) for a few weeks, and may already be regretting it. It came with a good service history and has had a new gearbox (by landrover in last 18months) since I've had it we've replaced a prop shaft bearing and the head gasket.

Now on occassions it seems to make a grinding/vibration noise when off road travelling at slow speed, although it has happened on turning round. Seems to be mostly in 1st/2nd gear only last a few moments and remedied some what with putting the clutch in a bit. Sounds terminal! Don't know what revs it's doing as the counter doesn't work! Seems no problem at speed on road, or pulling away, although the clutch seems high.

Any ideas, hubbie very ****ed off as I pushed him into getting it and it looking more like a money pit everyday.

Cheers for any ideas.
