Hi,
My 2003 Freelander TD4 is having some problems wit
The diagnostic equipment says "Error 1748 - 24/b Solenoid valve h the gearbox. While driving the "Hill Dissent " lamp is lit in the dash ( in a yellow color ). Also the text "F4" is flashing in the display where the " D " for drive should be ). When driving it feels like the car is constantly using the " wrong gear " ( Limp mode ? )

I have disconnected the barrel connector for the gear box and also the connector in the " L " shape box and measured valve. Everything seems to be ok there.

I also checked the fuses and noticed that the fuse " FL6 " 100 amp was blown. I replaced it and started the car. Checked the fuse again and it was broken. Does anyone know what this fuse is for? Since it is blowing a 100 amp fuse it must me a serious problem. I guess its for the glow plug systems but I am not sure.

Anyone got some tips for me?

Sorry for my bad English :/

Chris

FL6 is for the glow plug circuit. Remove the intake and inspect the plugs - you might find some melted plastic down there.

Hi there,
thanks a lot, i will check it as soon as possible.
Do you or anyone else have a clue if this fuse can affect the solenoid valve fault on the gearbox?
Anyone have a wiring diagram for this fuse?
Chris

The the gear display showing F4 means there's some serious fault and the gearbox has selected 4th to allow you to drive it to the dealer for investigation. You need to check all the gearbox wiring carefully.
