Hi

I have a 56 plate TD4 Adventurer with 90k on the clock and have what appears to be a diesel leak just in front of the rear drivers side wheel. It's dripping of a plastic cover(?)

Does anyone have an idea where it maybe coming from and what needs fixing?

Thanks

Hi Rob.
It sounds like it's coming from the fuel pump or filter which is in a small compartment above the plastic cover you mention. You need to jack up and block for safety, and remove the wheel. then there are two bolts to remove and the whole tray assembly drops down. It is quite awkward, and in fact I had a rant on here not so long ago about changing the fuel filter which is a pig to do at best. It could be one of several pipes/connections, and you can't be sure until you get it off to look at it. Give yourself plenty of time because this arrangement was designed by a complete moron.
Good luck.
Andy. :)

hi also in that area you have mentioned is the fuel sedimenter and it has a drain plug be a good idea to check that first before you start striping out your fuel filter and pump.good luck.

Cheers guys, it's going into York Landrover Services on Wednesday as I don't have the time or equipment to fix it.

Well that wasn't too expensive, the fuel filter had a pin hole leak due to salt corrosion. Less than £30 all in.:)
