Freelander cooling

Hi I have a 04 plate freelander that.seems to over heat have replaced the expansion tank and thermostat blead the system but doesn't seem to be circulating around the engine. If I travel 5 to6 miles then park up the fans are on like a jet engine for about 5 minutes radiator bottom hose stone cold not sure what else it could be HG was replaced not long ago any help would be great as don't won't to give in and take to garage just yet cheers pip.
