Freelander air con

Hi There,
When I turn on the Blower in the dash, the Air con compressor engages ,this will happen even if the a/c switch is turned off.
Is this normal or do I have a relay sticking some where

Is the air control set to demist? If so, the air con will automatically switch on to help the demisting process by drying the incoming air. Very useful!

Ya, it was set to demist and when i changed to a different setting the compressor disengaged. Thats my problem solved,
hope i get to use it this summer,

Either setting windscreen and windscreen and feet (the one next to it anticlockwise) will engage the aircon without the switch being pressed. Annoying but thats the way it is.
