hi all just fixed the 3 amigos problem but now under soft slow speed braking the pedal judders as if the abs is kicking in.anybody know why?i thought maybe seized calliper or warped discs could be sending a false signal to abs at very low speed?any ideas my friends?sometimes owning a k series is one step forward and three back. mark

Faulty ABS sensor , As you pull up slowly is it like your on black ice and the abs starts to work ?
Mine must of had a stone trapped on the abs ring as it had worn a little hole in the end of the abs sensor !

Price £251 + vat for genuine landrover sensor

Agreed: You have a low signal output from one of the ABS sensors, this tends to confuse the system into believing that the associated wheel has locked and the system therefore releases and applies braking effort to the caliper/ brake cylinder at high frequency in order to reduce the possibility of skidding.

I had the same problem with mine, checked all the the abs ring's thoroughly and all where fine....
turned out the air gap on the n/s/f sensor was to large so tapped the sensor in slightly and problem cured.
Failing that check all sensors with a multimetre they should read around 1 ohm.
If sensor is open circuit you can pick them up off ebay for £15......
None of this £177 main dealer bull. I think there same fitment as old rover 800 or such like.

thanks for replys boys, a bit more info from me might have made things clearer.i had the three amigos and changed sensor,(e bay £15) but the lights stayed on, had another gander and abs relucter ring was very loose on n/s shaft so to stop it spinning i tacked the sides of it to the drive shaft with 3 minute bobs of weld.i will check to see if sensor is pushed right in but will order a new reluctor ring,i was under the impression they are a tight fit on the shaft and are all same diameter i will also check resistance of cheapo sensor thanks for replies everyone its never dull with a freelander.mark
