Freelander 1 Freelander 2005 diesel.

Hi, I have recently bought a freelander 1 diesel. She has been a bit spluttery while driving and put it down to needing a service. I have replaced the fuel filter this week and although it’s better she is still not holding the revs while driving at a steady speed. She also starts but won’t rev and then cuts out. Will usually start on the 2nd or 3rd turn of the key. She revs up through

Sorry, I am having real difficulty using this forum. There is nothing clear about how to use it. I have posted the fault a few times now and both times it has been in the wrong place!! Needs to be some sort of tutorial to talk you through how to use the forum.
It’s all very confusing, I only signed up to try and fine out what might be wrong with my freelander. Thanks

On a 2005, it's OBD2 compliant, so any diagnostic device will give you basic faults and live data. This is the place to start, as the TD4 it quite difficult to identify a specific fault.
