Hi,
I'm new to all this but need a little help,
I have a 2009 freelander 2 2.2 diesel xs, 108,000 miles with full service history,
Recently had the cambelt change and since then at 2000rpm when the turbo kicks in I get a louder whistle than normal turbo sound,
It's been back as maybe hadn't connected a pipe back correctly etc.
Nothing can be found!
I still have normal power but every now and then have a smell of fumes inside.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site.
Someone...or a gaggle of someones...will be along to advise you post your Freelander requests for help/advice in the "Freelander" section. Lotsa helpful guys on there to help you with your FL's issues.

Hello and welcome:)

Often turbo whistle is a split in one of the intercooler hoses often hard to see unless you get someone to rev it up whilst you have a look round.

Will you be able to find it while reving up as you can only hear it when driving under load,
When you rev up you cant hear it, as mentioned it's been to 2 different garages, 1 being a land rover specialist but cant seem to find it,
It's not causing any issues but just annoying,
Also I have had the plastic pipe at the front changed with the little rubber hose on,
It's just bugging me how its happened after the cambelt change,

Would this cause a whistle at 2000rpm?
No, but it may let fumes in.
