Hi All... I'm changing my Freelander 2 GS 2009 for a new 62 plated face lift model at weekend :)

So I've taken off the OEM tow bar and electrics complete with ECU and loom, but the question is, will it fit my new car? (ECU is FoMoCo TTM 6g9n-14d054-ab if that helps?)

I know I'll have to have it activated if it does (bloody things)...

Also my existing car is not playing ball on the reverse sensors now.. I guess its looking for a tow ball ECU and not finding one.. the dealer will have to sort that one out ;)

I wonder if I could plug the loom / ECU in on collection and have it activated??....

cheers.. .John

Hi depends if you are buying a 13MY Freelander (with the led lights) or the last of the 12MY.

If it is a 12MY you should be able to use your existing kit.

hi.. its a my13... the plug fits... and its ment to be enabled in the ECU... but just tried it with a trailer boad and nothing works... mind you i've not put the 3 fuses in I took out of my old one, because the fuse box is differant when you open it,, its not the same layout as the old one of electrical insall manual.. :)

It's a different electrical architecture on the 13MY vehicles and there is a new tow electrics part number for 13MY.

Have you done some digging on TOPIx under the accessory fitting instructions to see where the new fuse locations are etc?

hi... yes.. all fuses fitted but does not work... is it a new loom or just a new ECU?.... :)

Hi there is no ecu needed if you have a 13MY (chassis DHxxxxxx at end of VIN)

The wiring look plugs straight in to the car for the tow socket.

Are you sure you have a 13MY?

Might have to program the car with the module fitted as it downloads software to it during the process.
