Hi There,
I'm a newbie to the forum. Joined because my wife's Freelander 2 TD4 2007 keeps cutting out at random. Yesterday I ran it at 3500-4000 rpm continuously for 10 minutes - not a glitch (no fuel starvation then ?), then my neighbour who has the same model took it for a run and said it was going fine, then this morning my wife took it out and after a mile or so it cut out. Sometimes at under 3000 rpm it will hesitate, there is a faint kind of air noise like a turbo gate valve dumping or something and it will go into limp mode - won't pull the skin off a rice pudding or exceed 3000 rpm. Then you can switch it off, remove key then re-start. Usually it re-starts immediately as if there's no problem, then..... you've guessed it.. same all over again. Has anyone experience of this frustrating fault? Message on dash says 'reduced engine performance.' Allan James
