Freelander 2 SD4 Limp mode

My 2011 auto Freelander starts and runs from cold and runs at low speed but as soon a I try to kick-down, the engine dies and drops into limp mode, I’m a newby so advice before I ship it off to my local LE specialist would be appreciated

Any running issues will really need a diagnostic read, or you'll just be guessing.
However you can check simple stuff like split boost pipes. There are 4 rubber boost pipes, all of which can split without warning, given simply symptoms to what you have described.

What happens when you gently accelerate up through the gears? Does it work ok or have the same fault? And at what engine rev's does it fault at?
