Hi, I'm new to LandyZone - just purchased a Freelander 2 and love it. My first problem has arisen though, the rear wiper has stopped working. Am I right in thinking this is fairly common? Any advice on where to begin?

Cheers!

I'm only just getting to grips with my FL & learning with each fix, but before pulling any panels etc....have you checked the wiper fuse ?
All the best
Steve.

Thanks for getting back to me. I've checked the relevant fuses this evening and no joy. I've read somewhere that the motors are prone to water getting into them and this rusts their internals. I'll get the motor out soon and inspect.

Took out the motor, disassembled it and the internals are quite badly corroded. They're completely seized up and currently sat in a bath of WD40 overnight. I'm glad I took it out actually; you could've fried an egg on the motor it was that hot. I certainly won't be spending £90 on a new one so where's there's a will, there's a way...
