How did you recharge the battery? Was it disconnected from the vehicle while charging it?
How did you un-dock the fob?

And yes the fob must always be removed, which is why it warns you when to door is opened. Leaving it docked prevents the computers from shutting down, so the battery will become flat, which on this vehicle can cause all sorts of electrical issues.

Couldn’t get fob out so charged battery in car. Voltage slowly raised enough to release fob in usual way
Checked fuses in passenger compartment this morning they are all ok but problem is still with me
Would you think disconnecting the battery for a time and reconnecting might help?

Thank you Nodge instrumentation is working again after reconnecting the battery. And I have reset the oil service indicator.
MOT next

Doing that will confuse the computers, causing issues.

That would have been my next suggestion.
Lots of issues are fixed by a hard reset. ;)
