Freelander 2 Handbrake button

Something small on my car that is irritating me. The silver paint or so on the handbrake button is coming off, leaving the ugly white button.

Any suggestions as to what I can do? I am thing of maybe -repainting it with silver or something. This would however mean I need to remove the whole handbrake unit for this which I am not sure how complicated this is to remove in re-install.

I know I am a bit "anal" but it is irritating me.

The manual below may help. Does the sales catalogue for that model year tell you the trim colour?

Black and silver trim. Might be easiest just to remove all the silver on the hand brake lever button and paint it black with plastic model car paint or so.

if it less than 3 years old lr will replace

un related but my wife's cooker has the same problem I think I will just renew the control knobs
