Hi guys not new to land rover. But new to the freelander 2 td4 2.2 automatic diesel keep getting p0299 coming up but not the engine management light car seems a little sluggish when pulling away but not as quick as my friends who has the same car only had the car 4 months bought it cause it only had 81400 miles on the clock any idea please

P0299 is a classic under boost code. So look for splits in the boost hoses, if which there are 4. Also check the under engine metal boost pipe doesn't have a rust hole in it.
Low mileage isn't necessarily a sign of a fault free vehicle, quality of maintenance is more important.

Check the hose to the turbo from the air filter possibly a small tear. When was it last serviced?
That I am not sure of the garage I bought it from said the had done a partial service but the car is telling mr next service in 840 miles so I will be doing a full service myself

Mine had a nice development of lack of power, rich fuel mix and black smoke. I changed hoses, air filter and new MAF sensor and it's all good and I was running the code but will be worth checking those when you do the service
