Hi all,
I bought what i thought was a decent 07 freelander 2 - 2.2 diesel a few days ago.
Within 20 minutes i was on the phone to the AA to recover the car.
It was all running smoothly until i went to pull out on a busy road and i heard a clunk and the car went into limp mode. AA said the throttle assembley flap has stick on and the pressure had blew turbo pipe off, it needed changing and that should fix problem.
After changing the throttle assembley, still no good! It will reach 4000 revs stationary, it starts to misfire and blows out black smoke and a msg on dash comes up saying "low engine performance" and will cut out.. also the same in drive, cuts out as soon as you put foot down.
So far changed :
Throttle assembley
Crank sensor
Fuel filter
About to get the fuel tank emptied and lines flsuhed.
No codes come up unless it has cut out, which is P0087
Attached is a pic of what came out the old fuel filter which to me looks like chip oil.
Anyone have any ideas as its just turning into a pointless money pit.
