Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone has had a leak in the boot of their Freelander 2. Because i have dogs i have a duvet in the back above the loadliner and of late its been soaking wet and stinking. Water seems to be getting in somewhere but having run my hands round the internal seals, i cannot locate a damp ingress anywhere. Any advice would be much appreciated
Cheers Peter

They can leak through high brake light, it just needs sealing with a little silicone, have you roof rails, that perhaps need sealing, or have you an incontinent dog?

Hi Freelance, I just checked the rear high brake light, inside there are two rubber tubes leading to each side of the light, the right hand one has mild damp on it, so will seal the light with clear silicone externally. I assume one of the tubes has the rear washer hose inside it and wondered if perhaps there was a leak inside that? Thanks again for all your help P

just sorted the window seal on my much older model that's where I had a slight annoying leak seletaped tissue checked to see what one was wet very old style but effective

Thanks Dale, Will maybe try the tissue trick, sounds like a good idea. I was in the Land Rover dealership today and just asked if there was a common fault with this, none has been noted but suggested a poor seal. Pretty poor on a 3 year old car!

It may not be the seal at fault. Dirt on the seal will stop it sealing. Tip some water over it in certain area's to see where it"s leaking with all doors/windows shut.

What is the warranty period on a Freelander? I thought they had extended warranty.

Hi Peter, out of interest did you manage to sort the problem with your leaking boot door? I have a similar issue with my 2013 Freelander 2. When it rains heavily I end up with a pool of water on top of the boot floor or boot cover when fitted. The problem doesn't arise when I wash the car, which seems strange.
