Hi my Freelander 1 TD4 has gone into transit mode, is there any way of getting it back in to transport mode with out going to dealer.
Thanks Dave.

start engine

put lights on full beam

including fog

sound horn 5 times

switch off

get out drivers door lock it

unlock car and enter through boot door

then do same again

but do horn 10 times

usually resets the buggers

Just to be a bit more specific - is that both front and rear foglights? Wouldn't want to lead the guy astray, would we?

Hello and welcome to the LZ :)

Pop over to the introduce yourself bit and do just that, then take a look in the Freelander specific forum, search is useful and might provide an answer to your problem.

Folk on here can get testy if you don't do the introduction bit, they will then get even more annoyed if you don't use search, especially if your fault turns out to be quite common :)

Taking it to Ridgeways at Rotherham on Monday moring, I can't see me running round the car doing an Injun dance some how to it would probly rain instead of fixing it. :lvlove-158:

You need to plug in a computer to change it. How do you know it's in transit mode without a computer?

ridgeways of rotherham sounds like a dealer or a specialist (they charge specialist prices to) if i were you i be would finding a good mechanic that you could trust or if you know a good mechanic then take it to him and get it on thier diagnostic machine (should haave the software for the Freelander 2) and should be able to reset it good luck

I took it to a local garage and he did not have the right diagnostic for it, took it to Ridgeways monday and they had it in and out in 30 mins the cost was £48.
