Freelander 1 td4 turbo problem

Hi
Has anybody come across this problem. The exhaust gases are white and smell of diesel, When stationery there is a strong smell of exhaust fumes in the car and exhaust fumes can be seen coming from under the drivers side wheel arch, with the bonnet lifted exhaust gases can be seen coming from behind the sound deadening on the bulkhead. The exhaust is OK with not leaks so I'm now suspecting the turbo ?
Any advice would be helpful

It ain’t like that in here !!

But it’s difficult finding a forum that actually talks about landrovers for more than 3 posts.. then they go off topic very quickly!!
