Freelander 1 smoke on start-up - TD4 05 plate

TD4 injectors are guilty of under fueling had all mine tested last back end and ended up with 4 reconditioned ones problem solved at great expense...

Thanks for all the info and reply, as I say I'm just getting my head round all this; so I will most probably ask some dumb questions / make dumb assumptions :O).
 
The glow plug pre-heat (before starting) temp/time follows this graph.

The post heat (after any start) is shown on the next graph. It shows glow plug operation, even when the engine is quite warm.

Have a look through @Nodge68 threads he is the experts on these matters :)

Not really. I'm not the authority on the TD4 engine. Arctic2 has more a wider knowledge span of them. I've more general knowledge of common rail engines. I know more about the K series petrol engines, than the BMW diesel lump of junk.
