Like most older Freelanders my 2003 TD4 Serengeti"s drivers seat is worn the door side.
I was browsing the web looking to buy a replacement seat when I came across an article which said it is possible to swap the drivers seat with the passenger seat. Is this correct? and if so is it an easy job to do? or is it possible to change over the seat squab/base from the passenger side? because there must be loads of better condition Passenger seats out there.

It is possible to swap the seat cushion and cover from left to right. You can't swap the whole seat though. The frames are handed as the seat belt buckle mounts to the frame ;)

@GrumpyGel did that swap recently!!

As you say most drivers seats are in pretty poor condition (especially the cloth ones), so its unlikely to get a good matching one from a breakers. If however, you can get a passenger seat one from a breakers what will be a good result as then you won't have your worn one on the passenger seat. Admitedly it won't wear any more as it now on the other side - but its still there all-be-it slightly less noticable.

On the subject of Freelander seats, all my previous Freelanders had the Grey cloth upholstery, except one which had Leather seats. Are there more than two coloured versions of the Freelander 1(Grey or Black)? because if I find one on ebay I need to know it"s the same colour/pattern as the one on my present Freelander Serengeti. 7 days to it"s MOT !!!!!!!
cheers
