Freelander 1 Replacement Stereo Head Unit

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen,

Does anyone know of a quality replacement stereo head unit that can interface with an existing CD player and the steering wheel remote in a Td4 ES (the one with the black centre console) and how much it might cost?

Although no standard aftermarket head unit will work with the steering controls directly there are a number of makers of interfaces to allow this to work.
I have just got my Pioneer working with the steering controls with an adapter from these people

The CD changer interface seems to be a bit more difficult as I have not been able to work out who actually makes the LR one for certain. Even if I knew there is no guarantee that the command set has not been modified in some way. I gave up on mine and fitted an iPod interface instead. I might take mine out and ask a mate who has his own car audio business to try it.
