the rear door on my old freelander has become uncooperative. I thought I was lucky having heard about so many problems with these rear doors, mine has been as good as gold up till now. I've searched the forum and whilst there are some threads on the issue no one has posted a solution about how you get the panal off when the door won't open. I'm going to have to have a go at it later and will post the result if I find one. Not only will it not open but the horn toots when I use the remote to lock it which I think means the system thinks there is a door open.

or it thinks the window is down.
When mine did this I disconnected the battery. On reconnect window powered down and could open door.
Mine was the sensor in the window motor not telling the ccu where the glass was and the ccu stopping a door open command.
Worth a go. Haven't tried to take panel off door with it shut. Others have and will be along soon with raw knuckles no doubt !

Yes, I think it summat to do with the window. It happened to a friend of mine not so long ago, well, I say friend, I can't stand the selfish, self promoting tw@t in actual fact. Anyway, I wacked the wi Dow with the flat of my hand a couple of times and it opened, so I imagine it wasn't quite making the switch contact. I've tried it with mine earlier and all I did was disturb the cobwebs and dust.
