Hello
I have just purchased a 2005 Freelander 1 and the parking sensors at the back do not work. I have researched through the forums and one of the suggestions was that put in reverse and listen for clicking of the sensors. This does not happen.
I have removed the side panel at the back and have a YWC500142/YMC500202 parking aid module.
There is no light on the dashboard switch and no sound. I have checked the fuse (24) and this is ok.

However, I cannot find any wiring diagrams to check the voltage outputs to see if 12v is going to the sensors. Or even input voltage to the ECU itself

Can anyone help me with the pin outs or have a wiring diagram that could assist with fault finding, or would you advise changing this part anyway.

Any suggestions most welcome

Thanks
Terry

its for the wife :) I don't care about them myself. But I need to try and get them working for her.

I don't wish to be thick, but have you checked the BUTTON is on. It's by your right knee when in the driver's seat. You can enable or disable it using the button, as you desire.

the button i have tried. and they should default to on when I select reverse after starting I believe. The button I thought, was just to disable if your towing etc
and the reversing lights work fine.
but thanks for the suggestions.

just a thought, have you tried wiping them, they wont work when dirty.
failing that, have a look on the X Type Jag forums, its a common problem on them,it'll give you some pointers at least.
