Freelander 1 driver door lock actuator not working with

Hi, I purchased a Freelander 1 a few months ago. The driver's door actuator was a mess and the sill button lost somewhere in the door! I swapped the actuator with one from a donor car. My remote fob does not work but the car locks fine using the key. The sill button rises and falls as expected. However, when I press the lock button on the centre console, the passenger door locks/unlocks but the driver's door doesn't.

Any advice would be welcome.

Sounds like the actuator or the wiring unless the knob is jammed againt something in the door.
