Hey guys, i jus got a 1.8 r reg for shifting tools and work. i've spent the last few days reading and checking out ur forum for a solution to my prob. although it seems the most common answer seems to b a rag to the fuel tank a lighter and run i was wondering if any 1 could help me wit some advice?
the issue is that the car jus stopped one morning. wouldnt even turn over. so i check the immobilizer, replaced batt and tested starter motor. i thot it may have been starter so i disconnected it an tested it with leads to batt and it started. so reconnected it. it started to turn over but not start now, checked fuel pump and its working fine and half a tank of fuel. on a forum some 1 mentioned a fuel cut off switch which i tried to locate...thot it ,ay have been the black circular rubber piece connected to body above fuse board. so touched it an pushed in....dont no at this point if that did anything but now the starter has stopped working again and back to square one....
p.s when i first started driving it used to cut out and stall at low revs. but put injector cleaner into fuel and after a week it got better and went away. not sure if its linked?
