Freelander 1 (2005) Radio Screen Not Working

My radio / sat nav unit screen has stopped working.

The radio appears to work and all the buttons, just can't see what I'm doin!!:doh:

Is it possible to reset the unit or is it most likely to be dead?

Also, can you fit a double Din unit in its place with removing the box under it?

Any help welcomed

Some sat nav units come with the ability to turn the screen off. Do you have the owners manual?

I've looked in manual but couldn't find anything.

I would have thought that if you could switch the creen off it wouldn't light up green, which it does.
