Hi guys I have a Freelander 1 with the L series 2.0 td engine, it have been an amazing car so far without any problems and just regular maintenance.
About a month ago I noticed a small oil leak on my drive and went under to check where it was coming from and it was the oil sump gasket that had failed.
I’ve replaced the oil sump gasket with an original gasket from Land Rover and did everything by the book and torqued to spec as it says on the maintenance manual, but after a few days it started to leak again slightly.
So I replaced the gasket again with original from Land Rover did everything by the book and it’s now leaking again slightly
Did any of you had the same problems with oil sump gasket?
Is it possible to just use RTV and not use the original gasket?
Thanks
