Hi All,

New to this forum so bear with me. I hope your collective experience will solve my little headache with the fuel filler cap on my TD4.

Some time back the outer (cosmetic) part of the cap came off - not sure how - but the remainder of the filler cap was OK and I've driven it like that for ages, although it's a bit ugly. I finally bought a replacement part which came without a lock so I could refit the original and avoid having two keys.

Unfortunately, short of cutting the old one to pieces, I can't see how the lock barrel is removed. And I don't want to start down that track due if there's a risk of damaging the lock. Lastly I can't see how the lock fits the new filler. Is it just a question of aligning and pressing it home?

Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike
