If by posting this I stop one person buying a freelander then I have succeeded, I bought a 2000 year 1.8 petrol last year, first the viscous coupling went and turned out later it had wrecked the ird unit, total so far...2000 quid, next a knocking from the back end on reversing, the rear subframe had come away from the chassis ? another 200 quid, two days later the engine mounts shere off on one side and the only way to repair is remove the engine and drill out the bolts, another 600 plus.... all this and only three miles driving in slow traffic each day, how do land rover get away with It, I have to pay the bills so I can sell on this monstrosity to some other poor sucker, by the way all these faults are well known by mechanics, I think land rover must be in league with them to make sure they get a good pension!!
