Today I had my approx. 6,000 mile oil and filter changed. (Would have done it myself but have no cover from the weather. Typical British summer). After getting home I decided to review the job (And as good as always from Hi-Q), I found the yellow handle on the dipstick covered in oil. Needed to clean that off before I attend some formal event and decide to check the oil before I leave. Smidgen of paraffin and some kitchen roll, old toothbrush and it's now immaculate. Whilst under the bonnet I thought that I should also clean off other areas of pipes, tubes, hoses etc. that were covered in mucky grease and oil. Engine bay looks really nice. Then found a plastic clip attached to the bulkhead that held nothing. Found a bit of loose hose in that area and re-fitted. Went through the whole bay area and re-attached many dangling loose hoses, pipes, clips etc. A pleasurable hour spent and a feeling of satisfaction. When I came to close the bonnet I espy another clip attached to the underneath of the bonnet next to the slot where the boot prop sits. (It has no connection to the windscreen washer hoses or anything else). I will fax or e mail (as an attachment) a chocolate bar of choice to anyone who can tell me what this clip is for!
