Connected upto the system ready for a vac out. Put a little bit off gas in to pressure test. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFF.

Bottom of the condenser.

Is it easy enough to change, just thought I would ask, see if anyone has any pointers.

Cheers chaps

Thanks, sounds simple enough, just got to get a new one/repair. Anyone know where I can get one repaired on the wirral?

I think there is a radiator repair place on the m53 eastham junction so I will try there first. Replacements are about £80 on the bay so if its not cheaper than that it aint happening.

Get a new one. All radiator repairers do it fit a new core. You can't do that on the condensor.

Thanks Lads, Two sizes? I can only see one code STC3679 for sale? They must come with O-rings. If not do you know what they are made from? I can most likely get a selection from work!

Ok its ready for a pressure test, swapped the condenser this evening.

The gas connections where a swine to get off, wd, and took my time. Found best fit spanner was a 3/4 which is slightly smaller than 19mm. The fan mounting bolts all sheared off so I had to pop out for some new. Used stainless Allen caps to replace them, and some copperslip.

Took about 3 hours of messing about but was a easy job compared to some. Let's hope it passes the pressure test.

hi cljcars
just did this as much as other jobs!

if only all jobs were so easy... i'll get mine charged up tomorrow also... 4 big holes in mine!

Going to have a look for the leak tomorrow. I think it was due the corrosion around the bottom right mounting point when looking from the front.

I am going for galvanic corrosion coupled with compression putting stress on the alloy left around the mounting point causing a hole/crack.

This is not what I expected mind you, thought I might find impact damage as is reported the usual failure mode.

Vac'd out and filled up with gas, Working well, bit of a squeekie clutch after it disengages. No clutch slip at all, solenoid is quick and strong.

Does anyone have a diagram of the clutch, I think it is off center until pulled in if you know what I mean, sometimes. Depending upon where it stops once disengaged depends whether it catches and makes an annoying squeek. When it stops part of the clutch is still in contact with pulley hence the squeek.

Help much appreciated.
