My beloved Range Rover P38

4.0 V8 petrol/lpg dual fuel. MANUAL gear box!!

cloth interior. Fairly low spec options but just means less can go wrong.

LPG Multipoint SGi system with spare wheel tank
Alpine CD player

Work i've done to it

Antiroll bushes and links
New tyres all round (15000miles ago)
new spark plugs,
upgraded high performance HT leads
filters all round (including fuel filter)
New alternator
new front axle/ suspension bushes
recent new wiper blades
new battery
new remote key transceiver (16 months ago)
Upgraded drilled and grooved discs and pads all round
Ipod/MP3 lead fitted to stereo
replacement dashboard dispaly clocks fitted to fix faulty fuel gauge (down side is it added about 45k miles to the clock unnecessarily)
New rear sections of exhaust (dual exhaust)

Work needed/bad points

worn ball joints for front wheels (£80 parts, + fitting). Drives fine but can occasionally get a bit of a vibration around 50mph.
Passenger side mirror doesn't move left to right remotely
front drivers side window has a loose seal (makes the window slow to wind up)
Battery keeps going flat. I don;t use the car very much as i've bought another car, but I'm just too annoyed each time i go back to it, the battery is flat even after a week!

Alarm fault on dash (alarm still goes off as normal, but i believe the ultrasonic sensor has gone, like most P38s)
neutral switch on gearbox needs replacing (to allow low range to engage). Brand New Switch provided, just never had it fitted.
some minor body scratches and dents. most noticeable being a scrape on the passenger side and a small dent under the rear light on the drivers side. photos should help. nothing serious just trying to give it a fair description.

everything else works as it should. suspension looks like it's in very good condition so shouldn't need any attention for quite a while. still goes up and down on demand with no issues whatsoever. very strange experience the first time you use it.

I get very good mileage out of the LPG system - roughly 35mpg equivalent for cost terms.
It works very well on LPG and is completely hassle free. starts on petrol and then automatically switches to gas with no hassle just far less cost.
It needs a little work to make it perfect but is a brilliant car and runs perfectly

lots and lots of paperwork with it dating back years. i've also got the workshop manual for it (better than Haynes) so you can do your own work on it if you're so inclined. I've also kept a record of my experiences since i got it two years ago. I wanted one of these since i was about 17, and a while ago decided to take the plunge. I promised myself i'd only keep it for a year and over two years later i'm still thinking twice of selling it.

personalised plate included in the sale which you can keep or split off and sell to make some money back

It has the swan neck tow bar fitted and i can even provide a spare rear number plate for bike racks/ caravan / trailer if you want it.

It's a manual gearbox which is quite rare on these cars, but does afford it an extra gear to get better mileage and off-road control.

6 Months tax just added too.

Test drives welcome assuming you are insured, otherwise I'll happily drive around to let you get a feel for it.

the interior is in very very good condition and i had it professionally valeted before christmas.

In short, i love this car. it deals with the snow, mud etc with no issue, can be loaded to the max and you just don't notice. if i could find a way of keeping two cars going i would, but circumstances demand it has to go.

please come and check it out yourself. I'm in Sheffield, S6 2 walkley area .
