OK, after nearly 300 posts of useless ****e trying to find fault with new parts, I've resigned myself to the probability that my cam bearings are shot.
The point of this post is for the DIYers, those who do the work on their driveways.
It slipped my mind to check these.....hell, I didn't even know it had them yet I went ahead and fitted my new cam and lifters in ignorant bliss with a hope that it would be like new although reality was a different situation completely.

Check yer cam bearings before fitting lads, P38's aren't all bad, its when people like me start messing with them without knowledge that fooks em up lol.

Never have truer words been spoken.:D:D:D

Yup, gearbox went west after I posted this.
Harsh changes, kicks down even on light throttle at medium revs and hold gears way too long, up to 3500 - 4000 rpm. I found a duff wire on the throttle position sensor plug, sorted it but the gear change is the same.
Any fuses I should be looking at, I'm quite sure one of the wire will have earthed.

Stuck in sports mode, position sensor duff. Throttle position sensor if removed put back in correct place?

Lol Fett.
Wammers, the bad wire was on the plug to the TPS so TPS wasn't removed.
Looks like I''l be on the hunt for a new TPS then (although it seems to get better the hotter it gets...strange).
