Hi

ive not long fitted a set of clear lenses to the range thanks to countax, and im contemplating fitting a set of front fogs to get rid of the plastic inserts on the bumper. My question is. if i get a hold of the original switch and original lights, is the loom already in place to simply plug and play the new additions ?

Cheers,

Scottie

I have no idea on P38's. But a lot of cars have a standard loom fitted. saves having loads of different ones made up.

Pop out the switch cover and see if there is a harness connection there.
Do the same with the fog light inserts.

There should also be a relay and fuse space somewhere. Fuse box or under seats etc.

Loom should be there, but you will need the BECM re-programmed to activate the fog lights. If the car is an Auto, you should not fit the fog light as the gearbox oil cooler is behind the nearside fog light position.

I'll get round too fitting some front fogs soon, but mine already has the switch and wires ready for the fogs to be clipped in, iv been told i'll have to get them enabled in the BECM also is yours manual or auto ? Iv been told its not a good idea to fit fogs to a diesel auto because there is an oil cooler behind one of the blanker's.

mine is manual i hate autos. Id have an l322 now if it wasnt for the fact they are all auto.

but anyway. yea its manual how can i get the becm programmed and is it costly?? if so ill run my own wiring.

Cheers for the answers

hope it's of help

I fitted front fogs to my DSE a few months back didn't need to have anything enabled on the becm just plug an play

Well the the plugs on the car were corroded after being open to the english weather for 15 years but cut them off and replaced them.

Can i ask were you got them from, i want them, also how much would you want for drivers mirror and postage ? :p
Sorry, mirrors have already gone.
Any other parts of interest to you?
Basically its an Oxford Blue Thor engine P38 auto. New bits added in the month prior to me scrapping it were:
Genuine ignition lead set ( done 1 mile )
Genuine drivers door handle and central locking motor.
Rear boot apperture seal ( the new type that keeps the water out )
Radiotor is 3yrs old.
Air con condensor is 2 yrs old. ( pump sold )
EAS valve box sold, as is alternator.
Good set of 16" alloys, 2 with almost brand new Continental tyres.
