reet, not quite as simple as it would originally seem,
pins 1 & 2 have a switched 12v feed onto them whenever the sidelights are turned on
pins 1 & 4 are the switched pair, that is to say, when the switch is on, 1 & 4 become linked internally in the switch
pins 3 & 5 are permanently internally linked irrespective of the switch position
pins 4 & 5 seem to have 0v on them.
NOW, THIS IS ONLY MY THOUGHTS ON THE MATTER BASED ON WHAT I HAVE FOUND, IF YOU DECIDE TO FOLLOW THIS IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK
pin 1 is feed to switch, which then gets passed onto pin 4 when switch is in on position
pin 2 is instrument / illumination light
pin 3 is not used
pin 4 see pin 1
pin 5 earth
truly good luck, fog lights are protected by 15A fuse, it will need a relay too. this all comes as part of the kit normally, and has the relevant places in the loom / fuseboard to take them. however there is no reason that the lights cannot be wired in using the switch "old school" style by breaking in to relevant circuit.
from what I have tested, I don't think the lighting functions are controlled by the ecu, it's just a handy place to plug the header in.
truly good luck with this, let us know how it goes.
