Ok am down to the last few niggly bits !!! Car is only half demonised now thanks to irish and rick !!! fob not working to open close doors etc , key in drivers door only opens and closes front doors not rear at all , one rear opens with handle with button up , other door button up but door will not open ? so half central locking working and no fob operation at all , done the open clos bit with button on fob pressed down ,, no joy . Maybe looking to sell , so really need everything working .
 
If the key still starts the car then it is synchronised to the immobilser, etc and should ordinarily work the central locking. Sounds like the age old problem of one of door lock actuators gone south for the winter and not coming back. As an aside does the LED on the fob still flash when you press a button? If not it could be something as silly as the batteries. If they are low you'll get a message flash up on the info panel on the dash but if they are totally flagged then there won't even be enough going to the car for it to bother to reply. There is also a fuse that controls the central locking, on the rear doors anyway - number 14 under the seat. It also controls the fuel flap so if that's still working, at least that's something ruled out.

As a last resort plug it in to Testbook and it'll do the locks one at a time and tell you which one to renew. (One run through TB costs about the same as a second hand actuator so it could be worth it.)
 
if i started from the begining i might scare you into never swearing at your RR again in case it takes offence !!!! ... so a quick run down .... water penetration in becm , showing low fob batteries ,electrics went mad throughout vehicle , new becm from mr Irish, did not start car , Rick came over and set new becm to ecu and car started . Batteries in keys new both of , red light flashing on fob , both keys start the car , key in drivers door opens and closes front doors only , passenger rear door button up but door not opening , rear door drivers side button up opens button down locks but only when pressed with finger manualy , not of key in drivers door etc . TA DA >>>>
 
Nearly there then! I had similar to this last year when both front door locks went it wouldn't open the back ones unless manually. One of yours seems superlocked though. As I believe the superlocking is separate from normal locking so could even be that solenoid. Becoming speculative now so looks like a(nother) plug in on the cards after all.
 
You don't need it to go onto diagnostics.

Both rear door locks have had it.

Buy some used ones off ebay, they're cheap. Don't buy new as they're made very badly.

You can unplug the RF receiver & plug it back in again & hopefully the fobs will resync in.

It's niggly problems you have now, nothing here will cost you loads.
 
Cost me loads !! lol Rick we all know its second mortgage time !!! mind you after driving it again with the harman kardon full on with u2 ,,,,,,,, starting to fall in love again .. sad old git eh ... gnna need to put a stake through its heart .
