Hi all

am over in France again with the beast after fitting a PSI Power box and omg its a new car or what the pedal responce is fantastic and going up hills well very few auto down shifts and a lot smoother engine feel.

Also changed the discs to all round drilled and grooved with performance pads and it stops on the dot even from speed.

So it's like having a new car cant wait for the next 200 miles today.

hi tony my names jamie from london please could you tell me abit about the psi power box is it hard to fit how much did you pay.. i have just fitted a boost controler to my dhse and found pritty much same result as wot you did. are they the same thing? with my boost vave full open i only get 1.2bar boost do you know wot yours is now you have the power box. im going to have mine chiped my last p38 was chiped by the owenner befor i got it and it was very quick and much better mpg then my newer one.. but befor i do that im going to find a bigger intercooler it will be a big help i have changed most of the exhaust stright through up to the cats going to remove the cats asap it has 4 2.5inc pipes comeing out the back polished with no back box,s looks nice but sounds about the same as it did before. im hopeing to get around 200 bhp when finished....thanks for any info you can give me about the power box...jamie

I should budget for a new auto box (if it's an auto) and new diffs since most of the transmission falls to bits above 300Nm of torque.
If you want 200bhp go buy a Porsche.:rolleyes:

sorry not mutch help with the replacement disks got them used of ebay from some one breaking a p38 that had very new ones just fitted before the car then died.

As for the psi power box got from lrseries online about £275 plus p&p no vat as live in jersey and about 30 mins to setup very easy lots of info with it and on the site and just google fitting.

great results done 650 miles in 3 days working well about 26 ish mpg over all.

Hello mr datatek.... Ill take on bord wot you said about the gear box as the last thing id want is my car off the road but i dont think 200bhp is a lot to ask as it runs at 136bh from the factory so would only be adding 64 bhp...its not a race car and never will be i no that but would just make it a bit nicer to drive and better mpg as the disel p38 is very slow and its the only bad thing i can say about the p38 ....thanks jamie
 
Hello tony thanks for the info ill look up the power box.. With the boost controler fitted im getting 21mpg around town and 33mpg on a run. But i think as soon as i can get it chiped im going to take the boost controler off it works fine but just dont trust it but it will do for now. Thanks jamie

I dont know who you think you are mate know one asked you for your 2pence worth so give it a reast son and as for chav you have started on me for nothing..if i wanted to have fight id ask my wife for a bunk up thats allways seem to work lol.. Throught id come on here and talk to people like me who love to talk about p38 rang rovers mybe get a few tip or even give a few if you dont like wot iv got to say just keep it to your self thers a good boy..thanks jamie

james your on loonyzone on a saturday night run with it or the abuse just gets worse board shoulders and an open mind mate.

had enough trouble biting me lip last night after a few beers some spotty little scrote got way too lippy "at me" :mad::frusty:
 
Thanks for takeing the time to put that mate i dont meen to take the bate but i have put a lot of time and work in to my car now doing 90% of any work needed.. As i spent more money fixing my last one then it cost to buy .i dont want to drive you mad but when you have five could you tell me wots the power box for is it for the ecu or is it some kind of turbo boost kit?? I have never seen one or anyone talk about them befor comeing on here... Thanks jamie
 
james you will get in to the banter soon enough power boxes usually remap the feuling timing and get the best out of your motor, normal ecu's have a wide scope they have to work with any engine biult between tolerances chipping or power upgrades normally tune your car to the cars tolerances fuel quality. bit like just going to gym or getting a personal trainer

Thank you for that tony. Are you planing to do anything els to yours i think the next step for me is to get my low rang sorted as its not working i have found out on here that it is down to lack off use maybe littel motor on t/f/box or ecu under the seat iv had a quick look at both and think ill chang the motor on the box first as looks very rusty but might have to do both as when selecting low nothing at all happens ill let you know how i get on with that ...
