If it was sea water it would definitely be Goodnight Vienna.

Dear OP, your P38 will never forgive you for this and will remind you of the error of your ways in a fashion that you couldn't possibly imagine..........

I get no fun out of what you have. Wading a P38 above it's recommended wade height is asking for trouble. As you have discovered.

Hi All!
joined here to talk about my flooded p38 4.6.hse. It was sunday..late afternoon and stuck in a river, engine stopped just at this point obviously, filter was wet and some water was in a tank before MAF. Then the water came to us, around 5 min later. luckily sunroof was opened so we could get out easily. But all electric was underneath except SRS.

I think you're gonna need a bigger boat!

Just dry it out, all of it, really thoroughly. As long as the water didn't get past the catches in the air-intake it'll be fine. As suggested, check all leccy connectors underneath and change all fluids.

Theres a guy on youtube did the same thing .but took out bcm or the ecu ,opened it and dryed it wi a hair dryer ,and all was good .You could try a wire to the starter solenoid touch it to the + battery if nothing ,its starter if it spins it will blow water out plug holes.

I think everything is ok ecept that had it in low drive gear when wather came in circuit so im certain that auto unit had been underpowered when was in gear and still memorised as fault. Maybe today will come a guy with diagnostic and sort things. Ive tried put no.11 fuse but did nothing..

From the owners manual.

CROSSING A RIDGE
Approach at right angles so that both front
wheels cross the ridge together; an angled
approach could cause traction to be lost
through diagonally opposite wheels lifting
from the ground at the same time.

CROSSING A DITCH
Cross ditches at an angle so that three wheels
always maintain contact with the ground (if
approached head on, both front wheels will
drop into the ditch together, possibly resulting
in the chassis and front bumper being trapped
on opposite sides of he ditch).

WARNING
The maximum advisable wading depth is 20
in. (0,5 metre).

Severe electrical damage may occur if the
vehicle remains stationary for any length of
time when the water level is above the door
sills.

Before wading, ensure the electronic air
suspension is set in either ’Standard’ or ’High’
ride height.

If the water is likely to exceed 20 in. (0.5
metre) while the vehicle is moving, the
following precautions MUST be observed:

• Fix a plastic sheet in front of the radiator
grille to prevent water from soaking the
engine and mud from blocking the
radiator.

• Ensure that the silt bed below the water is
firm enough to support the vehicle’s
weight and provide sufficient traction.

• Select ’High’ ride height.
• Ensure that the engine air intake is above
the water level.

• Select a low gear and maintain sufficient
throttle to prevent the engine from stalling.
This is particularly important if the exhaust
pipe is under water.

• Drive slowly into the water and accelerate
to a speed which causes a bow wave to
form; then maintain that speed.

At all times, keep all the doors fully closed.

What are the chances of claiming off your insurance? Even if you get it working it probably won't be right again. It might smell too.
