Flickering lignts on a 99 discovery

I have a 1999 Discovery with 64,000 miles. Just recently when the auto is running, the head lights, dash and interior lights flicker at any rpm. The stereo doesnt have this problem; it is an after market stereo and may be wired directly to the battery. I wondered if it could be the alternator.

Very likely. Check and clean/repair/replace all earth straps ..

sounds like alternator to me! probably the brushes inside the alt are either stuck due to contamination or the fact that they just could be very low.if your good with your hands you can buy the brushes seperately and solder them in and saving a **** load of money too!

Have you had a multimeter to the battery terminals while the engine is running? see what sort of voltage is getting pumped through
