Disco 3 (LR3) Flickering light problem

Surprising with the led number plate lights. powerfuluk.com who I got them off don’t say anything about them being non-road legal and even have a you tube video showing them fitting them to their own daily driver.

Like I say will get the battery tested at the weekend as when the engine is running the battery reads a higher voltage which to me points to the alternator is charging it.
But only a guess as don’t have the proper equipment to test it.

just didn’t want it to comes across in trying to tell u how to suck eggs

think it’s also down to these new upcoming mot regs, including egr blanking etc

leds inside i think are a great idea , inc, to save battery power

i fitted leds and it sent the system haywire inc smoke pouring out of the centre light because the leds had a metal casing and earthed out

leds do indeed have to be canbus error free

good that u know and wished to at least give u a heads up

Yes three of our cars including the D3 have had the EGR’s removed so be interesting to see how that ends up.

Wonder what the legal implications of fitting disco 4 led tail lights to d3’s are

Certainly an interesting one to see how it pans out. Haven’t thrown any of the original bulbs away incase I have to take them out.

Also ordered led reverse lights, rear fogs and indicators so gonna go to prison lol

i kept my egr pipes and ordered a thin blank plate , so i can put the pipes back and keep the blank and won’t know then it’s been blanked , lol

from what i’m reading u can fit external leds in light that have been designed to accept leds , if halogen bulbs are fitted as standard u can’t for leds unless the entire light is replaced

that’s the way i’m reading it

internal leds ain’t covered

indeed witll be interesting to see how these new mot rules pan out

know on the rear light clusters they are normally changed as a complete set, as they have a resister fitted, otherwise it’s suppose to send the can bus system in to a dummy spitting exercise

i’ve got led sidelights , but as my headlights are halogens i’m going to refit halogen sidelight bulbs

That’s a good idea. D3’s egr was removed before I bought it so no luck. However my local mot tested hasn’t passed the missus focus st with a decat for the past 2 years so with any luck that’ll help.

Is certainly an interesting one. I’ll probably have a word with my insurer and see what they think.

as far as i’m aware if u replace the entire light that’s fine as it’s been designed to accept leds

Guess if I get told off it’ll be an excuse to buy some D4 lights lol.

sneaky i know but i can’t see just me doing that , trouble is u can see the egr pipes are missing without removing any covers , on the engine side u can see the blanks , lol

lol, perfect excuse to just buy the D4 rear lights complete , they normally are already done for the can bus
