Opened it up again:
1/2" and 3/8" drive sockets are bi hex but there is a set of impact sockets single hex
1/4" drive sockets are single hex
1/2" and 3/8" drive deep sockets are single hex
1/4" drive deep sockets are bi hex
3 ratchets all seem to be high quality but they are not the micro type, i.e. the movement needed between clicks is pretty much standard.
Don't know how durable the black finish will turn out to be but it looks good and should help you pick out which ones are yours should they get mixed up with others.
I like the dark finish, many years ago I used to buy ex WD Britool sockets from a store in Mexborough and they were as tough as any tool I have ever used you could rely abuse them and they never failed.

I brought a new tool chest from there at the weekend 150 reduced to 75 then with trade discount down to 60 can't fault it reallt

Check before you buy, I have a trade card and the socket set was £145 with the trade card but £127.50 not using the card and putting in WORK 15 in the promotion box at check out.
If I tried putting in the code when I had logged in with my trade card it would not move from £145

Yeah I put the promo code in online and order it went to pick it up and they said it's cheaper with trade card than promo code by 7 ish pound I think

I like the way this works, I log on see what the price is including a discount code if I have one, then I log on and see what the trade price is. Does make for some funny reading......:)

Cheers

Yes I now check everything twice over.
Well I am dead chuffed with my new purchase, and I feel so lucky that I have a Defender, so I am sure it wont be long before I need to use them.

We are so lucky we should buy lotto tickets..........:)

But while I wait until I win, I am off to fix my 90.......:p

That looks like a good buy. I've got a smaller set, regretting not paying a bit more for the more comprehensive one. Black looks very smart, although I always assumed black was reserved for impact-rated sockets to avoid any confusion.

Excatly the same as me, I've got the 150 set and or though it's a few years old now everything works.
Haven't even lost any sockets to use that as an excuse to buy the bigger set

Chris

Why do they put in that mix of hex and 12-point sockets? Hex always give better torque and minimum risk of rounding. I would have thought that was important for landy work;) and the only bolts that need 12 point are on the brakes.
