Good evening.

I hope everyone is well , so I have today spent over 800 quid having my fuel sender unit replaced , an oil leak sorted and some new handbrake shoes , now we were having problems with a fluctuating fuel gauge , one minute it looked OK the next there was only half a tank , anyway I think the sender unit has sorted this.
My next problem which I'm after some help with is my FL2 is 2008 model and when I have the vehicle range on the digital display I'm sure it's in accurate I filled the tank up and it was showing approx 300 miles then after a drive it went up to 326 and it seems to go up and down constantly. Can anyone guide me as to why this maybe is there a way to reset it ? How does it read the range Info etc.

Thanks

Jay

The current range is based on the current average consumption, and angle of the vehicle, so it will change up and down, based on the information to hand.

Mine is the same, and it's completely normal.
For example.
This morning I set off for work, the range displaying 92 miles, the car being parked at an angle all night. I drove 7 miles to work, parked it in the flat car park, then drove it 7 miles home again this evening. Then I got home, the range showed 87 miles, so somehow I did my normal 14 miles, but only dropped the range by 5 miles.
So yes, it's completely normal, and should be considered a guide only. I fill mine, when the low light comes on, normally sticking £25 in at a time.

That's great thank you for your help , I think because we had the faulty fuel gauge we have been watching the range alot more than we did before and that's why we have these concerns , I did have a feeling it may fluctuate depending on speed etc and various other reasons. Sounds like its one less thing to worry about.
