FL2 TD4 Tyres: Need new ones now or wait?

Hi all.
I took my truck to two tyre firms last week as I don't know a thing about legality of tread, etc.
One place said they'll be fine until the end of summer being as I won't be doing many miles, the other said they need changing right now.
Please can I have your thoughts on these, they are both front...

IMHO they are legal - the tread wear indicators are still below the tread surface.. The issue is that the linear pump formed by the tread will be very inefficient at shifting water if you are in a "flash flood" situation.. but you can probably drive appropriately in such a circumstance..

Given your stated low mileage use, the tyre place which told you they need replacing now I would avoid like the plague - the other place might get my business subject to price and competence..

At the end of the day it is your money, and your call. IMO, with my driving style, I'd be fine with them for the rest of the summer..

Thanks for that. That rings true - I didn't want to influence you / this but the one who said they would be OK for a while is reliable and has always been fair - the other one is awful, but I wanted to check.

Sad that I know this. But budget on 1mm of wear per 7,000 miles of sensible driving.

They look legal at the moment, however if you're travelling at speed on a soaking motorway, they won't grip much.
I always change my tyres when the tread gets to 3mm, so I don't have to worry about driving on wet roads.

When you change them get the tracking looked at as those tyres are wearing on the inside to much in my opinion.
