FL1 tail light question

Sorry - it's me again lol
Am I correct in assuming that in normal use, the only tail lights on my FL1 (3DR if that makes a difference) are the two very low ones on the rear bumper? Are the higher-up lights the fog lights and reversing lights only?
Has anyone ever wired in some tail lights further up the back of the vehicle - either utilising the existing fog/reverse light cluster or adding marker lights? Just wondering because it seems a bit strange to have the tail lights so low.
Thanks :)

Its a legal requirement I believe to have the lights lower as the higher up ones are obstructed by the door/spare when the door's open.
Ahh yes - good point. Thank you.
So I needn't worry about wiring/bulb issues then? The tail lights at the bottom are supposed to be the only ones?
Still a little a paranoid about my first week driving an 18 year old car with 195k on the clock lol. I'd rather spot and solve any issues before the local constabulary take it upon themselves to inform me!

I've wired mine to do all four with sidelights, brake lights at the top with high level and indicators where the reversing lights were.
Then the bumper houses reverse lights (which are better lower for reversing) and fogs low in bumper (double filament bulb with the lower side lights).
Works well, covers the door issue and is MUCH clearer to see when being followed. It looks like a trailer otherwise !!!

Thanks Andy - that sounds like what I need. I don't suppose you have any links or info regarding the exact set-up and wiring?

No sorry, I just looked in up in the manual circuit diagram, knocked up a replacement loom in the right colours and plugged it in.
Needed to change the lower unit lamp holders to accept the dual filament lamps.
Incidentally, the legislation regarding lamps on vehicles is very loose, wattage and position are not really very tight. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/contents/made

MOT has been fine for the last 4 years !

Thanks again Andy. Interesting info there.
I'm thinking I might buy a couple of narrow LED rear marker lights, screw them vertically to the outer extremes of the tailgate (as long as I can fit the left hand one in the narrow vertical gap to the left of the number plate) roughly level with the existing reverse/fog clusters and wire them into the number plate light (the door skin of the tailgate is pretty tatty anyway and looks like it's been off and back on more than a few times, so that won't be a problem). I'll probably need a bit of silicone behind the new lamps to stop water ingress - it won't be a work of art, but then again, it won't look any worse than the rear tailgate handle assembly which it appears is being held on by an M10 coach bolt robbed off a farm gate lol.
I might make that and sourcing some decent speakers, my little project while I've got a few days off over crimbo :)
