Folks,
Thinking of changing my FL1 to a FL2 and was wondering if anyone had any experience with fitting a towbar to a FL2. I noticed on the Witter web site that ‘Dealer Coding Is Compulsory’ for the dedicated electric kit (£140+), but they also list a ‘Generic’ wiring kit as well. I was under the impression that with modern ‘CAN BUS’ wiring you were required to use a dedicated wiring kit (for the lights I imagine but does this include supplementary caravan supplies as well). I take it if a towbar fitter installs a towbar, you still have the expense of taking it to a dealer for ‘Coding’? I normally fit my own tow bar and electrics but on my current FL1 I got the dealer to include it as part of the deal. I may be wise trying this again.
Any had a towbar fitted to a FL2?
Thanks,
Chris

Some fitters can update the Stability program if they have the right equipment. Never reall understood why the ESP isn't configured for a trailer by default because it still runs normal mode when a trailer is not attached.

The socket contains a switch which tells the car there is a trailer so why not set it up from scratch? I found PF Jones quite helpful.
