FL 2 SD4 coolant leak

good afternoon all
I originally posted this in the introduction section but I would appreciate any advice as I have now found the cause of the leak

some members on here might remember me from the old LRO forum
these days I have a Freelander 2 SD4 which is a lovely drive but it has developed a coolant loss issue that I am struggling with,
there is no signs of a leak around the coolant pipes that I can see around the engine bay, also no mayo in the oil
the only sign of coolant I have found is behind the engine under the bulkhead around what I presume is the A/C drain (a cone shaped piece of plastic under the bulkhead)
the footwells are dry and due to this happening between Xmas and new year today has been the first opportunity for me to investigate this
my first though was heater matrix but this seems wrong as I get the impression that the matrix is lower in the cabin to cause this without flooding the footwell, so now I'm wondering if it could be the EGR cooler
has anyone else had similar issues with a Freelander 2

• i have now had a bit of time to investigate the leak further and the good news for me is it is not the EGR cooler, the bad news is it appears to be the heater pipes quick connectors weeping (probably 'o' ring failure) these parts are used on Ford vehicles and seem to be a common failure point, so as ford owned LR at the time this make sense to me that this is why mine has failed
• has anyone else had this and how did they solve it, as I would rather replace the 'o' rings than replace the 2 pipes at much more expense,

Not had any issues with leaking quick connectors on coolant pipes myself. However I'm sure the O rings will be pretty standard sizes.
Just extract one and measure it, then order a couple of new ones.

turns out that the replacement pipes are not too expensive after all (£21 on eBay) so new pipes are ordered
but the original pipes are a real PITA to remove being as you have to twist the locking collars which happen to be under the Air con connections on the bulkhead (very tight for space to work)
I have ordered the tool to help with removal but I got bored and so with some endurance I have managed to remove the pipes (Long flat blade screwdriver and gentle tapping with a mallet)
the 'o' rings are definitely flattened on the inner circumference and had been allowing coolant to leak
so if someone else is having slow coolant loss issues with little to no signs of where the loss is try looking under the plastic panel below the windscreen as it may be these 'O' rings that has failed
I found this info by searching for the coolant hoses and found that these are fitted on ford vehicles and the seals look they fail after approx 100000mls regularly (look for info about American ford focus heater connections, I found a youtube video)
