Hi all,
I've got 7.50r16 tyres on the disco and it has had the rear seats removed and a storage platform built with heavy boxes of tools and Jerry cans permanently in there. The suspension is 18 years old now anyway, so a fresh set of springs should just raise her back up a bit and allow for my big tyres a bit better.

I've found a set of 4 HD springs nice and cheap but not sure if I can change just the springs, and change the shocks later, or whether I have to do the springs and shocks all at once?

I've heard alot of stories of Britpart springs leaving discos higher at the front and things like that, so I've a bit of trepidation about fitting cheapo HD springs but will give it a go.

No reason not to do springs now as shocks later other than the fact that's you'll effectively be doing the job twice. The rears will be easy as the springs and shock are separate but the front means removing the whole assembly twice.

I've heard the same stories about Britpart springs but lots of people on here have fitted them and never has any issues.

I fitted britpart +40mm HD springs, mainly because I carry allot of weight in the back and wanted it to sit at the " normal" height when fully laden, I also tow aheavy trailer allot too.

I have not extended any brake lines or replaced the shocks, they have been on for around 8 months now and no trouble at all. I have noticed when unladen the back sits higher than the front but when loaded shes nice and level.

The one thing I have noticed it when unladed you get a much harsher ride, the handling of the lanny did not alter or anything funny with the steering. In my opinion I would put the +40mm HD springs in, feels much more solid and capable.
